Three counters at the top of the screen track your progress. Sanity starts at 100 and drops when you face frightening events, such as running from the faceless figure, which lowered it from 78 to 60. Clues rise as you inspect evidence, like the maintenance map or the cassette tape that speaks in your own voice, and Sigil keeps count of special marks. Optional bonus buttons let you watch an ad to gain 30 Sanity or reveal a hidden clue when you need an extra edge.
