Basketball Stars is a free online basketball game you can play right in your browser, alone or with a friend. Start strong, drain three-pointers, crash the boards for rebounds, and don’t give your opponent any breathing room on the way to becoming a legend on the court. Jump into a fast quick match, grind through training, or take on a full tournament where the competition ramps up with every round.

Basketball Stars runs entirely in-browser with no download required, and its two-player local controls make it just as fun heads-up against a friend on the same keyboard as it is going one-on-one against the CPU.

Basketball Stars offers four ways to play: Tournament for a full run of escalating competition, random match for a quick pickup game, training to practice your moves without the pressure of a scoreboard, and quick match for a fast head-to-head game. You can play one-on-one or two-on-two, against a friend or the CPU, choosing from a wide range of players and some of the best teams in the NBA League.

How to Dunk in Basketball Stars

To dunk, grab the ball and drive toward the hoop. Once you’re close enough, jump with W or Up Arrow, then press X or L while airborne to slam it home. Timing the jump right as you reach the hoop is the difference between a clean dunk and an awkward miss.

Tips for Winning at Basketball Stars

Save your Super Shot for moments when the defense is out of position rather than firing it the instant it’s available. Use the double-tap dash to blow past defenders when driving to the basket, but be ready to pump-fake with S if a blocker steps up to challenge your shot. In two-on-two, communicate court position with your partner so you’re not both crashing the same lane.

  5. Defend — Use pump/block to contest shots and steal to disrupt your opponent’s possession.
  6. Unleash your Super Shot — Time it for a moment when the defense can’t react in time.
